This year’s group Meetup the boondocking Bash is being moved and we won’t be having it in Quartzsite this year we will be having this at slab City
I know a lot of you have always wanted to visit slab City but haven’t made it for one reason or another this might be the best opportunity to go as part of a group
The dates will be December 2nd through 15th and I will create an event tab here on the page and in the main group where I will add details as all of this comes together

HOWA IS PLEASED TO BE INVOLVED IN THE VEHICLE RESIDENCY COLLECTIVE TO BRING POSITIVE ATTENTION TO ISSUES OF VEHICLE-BASED LIVING. AT THE SUMMIT WE WILL BE:
- Addressing the trend to criminalize vehicle residency,
- Highlighting the care of vehicle residents toward our valued public lands,
- Focusing on how vehicle residents bring their personal properties to fix the housing crisis,
- Sharing how vehicle residents care for each other within their communities,
- Exploring opportunities to grow in-town parking programs for vehicle residents,
- And more!

Our mission is to create engaging, community-focused events for van-lifers, camp-lifers, and weekend warriors out there seeking to explore the Ozark mountains and beyond.
This year the fourth annual Vanarky in the Ozarks Fall Campout will be in Ozark, Arkansas at Byrd’s Adventure Center. Here, tucked along the Mulberry River in the Ozark National Forest, you’ll find a weekend complete with all of the adventure activities you can handle! Be ready to settle into 3 days of workshops, hiking, river rock skipping, dancing, off-road trails, learning, love, live music, craft beer and spirits, firepits, and good food. All of this will be ready to enjoy in a van down by the river…or a skoolie, tent, truck camper, or whatever your traveling heart desires.
Along with all of the activities, the campout will serve to connect van-lifers and weekend warriors with one another in order to provide resources through workshops and conversation to help with build-out concepts, van design, secret campsites, and all the things we’ve learned about adventuring in the Ozarks and beyond.
No van? COME ANYWAY! We welcome all types of campers from tents to skoolies and everything in between.

The reason two days before Halloween is so our local friends and fellow Q’ers from Quartzsite who are still working will have an opportunity to join the fun with a following day to sober up  . Costumes not required but adds to the fun and there will be a costume competition.
Please note: any female members who come as Lady Godiva will automatically win first prize.
We have a Bluetooth sound system so
load up your phones with your favorite dance or sing along music.

The 5th annual Lolapalooza will be held at Abilene State Park October 20 – 23, 2022.
The 2022 Lolapalooza will be held Oct 20-23 at Abilene State Park. I have a few sites left in the Wagon Wheel loop. They are first come first served by emailing me. Once those are full you can get a site elsewhere in the park by reserving thru the Texas state park website listed below. Hope to see you there!

 October Pahrump Desert Clean-Up Postponed 10-22
HOWA put out a call to the community to provide locations on BLM land that needed some clean-up, but we didn’t get any responses. And, that’s good news. Neither the community nor HOWA’s efforts to find trashy places yielded any likely locations.
So, we are postponing our next Pahrump Desert Clean-Up until April of 2023. In the meantime, we have a wonderful volunteer, a licensed drone pilot, who will be looking down into the washes to find trash that is below our ground-level view.
So, mark your calendars, be in Pahrump in April … we’re going to find some trash, then clean it up!
