Burning Van – Borrego Springs, CA

Come join other vanlifers & nomadic folk as we ring in the new year by burning the wooden van effigy. All are welcome to attend, this is an all ages event. This is a pack it in/out event, be ready to camp. If you have arts & crafts or anything to sell, please purchase a vendor ticket. If you have a unique talent or are a musician and would like to perform reach out to me and I’ll put you on the schedule. This is a DOG friendly event, please keep your dog on a leash.

Schedule:

Thursday: arrive, set up camp, meet and greet, entertainment TBD

Friday: Potluck, talent show, burning of the van at midnight, entertainment TBD

Saturday: Sunrise trip to Fonts Point (4 x 4 recommended, weather permitting), various vanlife workshops TBD, entertainment TBD.

Sunday: pack out, leave no trace.

From Highway 78, head down Split Mountain Road roughly 8.3 miles. You will see railroad tracks just before the gypsum mine. Go to the left on the dirt road that follows the railroad tracks east. The event will be roughly 2 miles down that dirt road. Look for the big California Flag. Safe travels and see you soon.
